Learning Development Center/LDC was established in conjunction with the establishment of Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance at Universitas  Negeri Padang. Universitas Negeri Padang  was established on October 23, 1954. Then it underwent several changes in status and lastly in 1999 it changed from IKIP Padang to Padang State University.
